Mackenzie and Andrew’s La Venta Inn wedding was a celebration built entirely around the details of their relationship. Handwritten vow scrolls, hand fans printed with the wedding party names, a flower bouquet wrapped with a butterfly, a ring pillow embroidered in the same green as their invitations, and a custom perfume are just a few of the things that made the whole day feel completely personal.

Mackenzie stood alone admiring her gown by Fleurish LA Bridal before putting it on, making it one of the most quietly beautiful moments a Palos Verdes wedding photographer gets to capture.

Andrew received a viewfinder of Mackenzie’s boudoir shoot, and his reaction said everything. His suit told its own story with monogrammed socks, custom cufflinks, their wedding date stitched under his collar, and his initials inside the vest.

La Venta Inn set the scene before a single guest arrived. Colorful florals by Joyan Blooms lined the aisle, a hand painted seating arrangement greeted guests at the entrance, and the historic courtyard fountain overflowed with flowers.

At the La Venta Inn bridal suite, Mackenzie’s mom helped her into her gown and the bridesmaids gathered around.

The first look happened and it was everything a Southern California ocean view wedding moment should be.

Before the ceremony, the reception at La Venta Inn told their love story through the decorations on the table. Each table was themed around a place Mackenzie and Andrew had traveled together, the menu cards were adorned with fresh flowers and green name cards by Made by Meg, and Torrance Bakery delivered the cake. It was topped off with live violins, cellos, and harps filling the air from Pink Mozart Entertainment.

Officiant in hand with both vow scrolls, Andrew waited at the altar with tears in his eyes as colorful florals by Joyan Blooms lined every inch of the aisle at La Venta Inn.

They unrolled their scrolls, said their vows, and the moment they kissed the guests erupted with colorful streamers filling the historic Spanish villa courtyard.

Their first portraits as newlyweds took place all over La Venta Inn in Palos Verdes, golden light wrapping around them at every turn.

As guests moved into cocktail hour, Made by Meg finished setting the reception with flower adorned menus, green name cards, and honey drizzled butter at every place setting.

As guests moved into cocktail hour in the La Venta Inn courtyard, they were greeted with a signature drink called Jenny’s Knees, named after the couple’s dog. Mackenzie and Andrew made their way through the crowd, hand in hand, greeting everyone they love.

Dinner kicked off with trivia and fun fact cards on every table, a reception detail idea that made every guest feel like part of the story.

The dad daughter dance and first dance were followed by Mackenzie tossing a t-shirt instead of the bouquet, completely on brand for a couple who did everything their own way.

A face painter flown in for the night transformed guests one by one, which was one of the most unexpected and memorable wedding entertainment ideas captured at a La Venta Inn wedding. A group of friends had their faces painted as KISS, making this one of the most unique wedding activities we’ve seen.

The night ended outside with Mackenzie resting her feet and Andrew massaging them after hours on the dance floor, both of them with painted faces and smiling from ear to ear.
